Evansville Wastewater Treatment Plant

A Norther Power 100 kW Northwind turbine was installed at the Wastewater Treatment Facility in June of 2010. Three 37' fiberglass blades with a swept area of 217' are attached at a hub height of 121'. The turbine will produce an average of 234,000 kilowatt hours of electricity annually. The monopole steel tower rests on a 15' deep concrete foundation. Once the foundation was poured and cured, tower erection and blades attachment took four days.
